This exceptional Muscadet Sèvre et Maine was bottled in March 2015 after aging 30 months on fine lees. This wine expresses the minerality of our terroir of Schists. This Cuvee is our first vintage of the new Cru Communal VALLET.
Chateau de la Ragotiere, VALLET 2012 (Tech sheet) 92 points Wine Enthusiast 2016
This is an exceptional Muscadet. It still has plenty of freshness along with a tight, mineral texture and lightly smoky flavors. The concentration gives the wine richness while it remains bone dry and crisp.
A surprising Muscadet. On the nose, citrus notes blend with hazelnut and brioche notes. The palate is soft, full with surprising roundness.
Broad, brothy and rich, this wine holds its freshness close to its core. It grows on mica schist soils, the vines between 40 and 60 years old, their fruit focused, persistent and clean, but needing bottle age to gain full expression.
Light yellow. Mineral nose. The same register in mouth which also develops pleasant floral and fruity flavors with a mineral finale.
Tasting Notes :
Smooth and full-bodied, with vanilla and butter note that blend well apple and peach flavours. It's soft and well integrates.
"A particularly expressive nose dominated by a blackcurrant fruitiness and a beautiful finesse and length in mouth. Perfect to serve with grilled fish or scallop"
